Transportation Insurance

insurance

Delivery time of goods from point A to point B is not a problem in our modern age. Nevertheless, another problem persists, which is safety of goods in transit. It is impossible to foresee and prevent all dangers and risks related to transportation of goods. Possible damage from the insurance case during transportation of goods can be so serious, that it will deal a blow to the activity of the enterprise. That is why insurance of carrier’s responsibility operates in the frameworks of international agreements and conventions. Insurance of carrier’s responsibility – this is payment of compensation to the injured party during insurance case, and it is confined to the following ranges:

  • Road transportation: 8,33 SDR or about 13,00 USD per one gross kilo of goods according to CMR Convention

  • Maritime transportation: 2,00 SDR or about 3,15 USD per one gross kilo according to Hague-Visby rules.

  • Air transportation: 17,00 SDR or about 26,59 USD per one gross kilo according to Warsaw convention.

  • Railway transportation: 17,00 SDR or about 26,50 USD per one gross kilo according to CIM Convention.

If the insurance in the above cases does not cover the cost of your goods, then we recommend you to get additional insurance, which would guarantee You payments of insured sum if insurance case arises.
